Volleyball concludes 2025 campaign on Sophomore Night
Auburn Hills, MI- The Oakland Community College volleyball team closed out their 2025 season last night at home as they fell to the Schoolcraft Ocelots in three sets, losing 21-25, 17-25, and 21-25.
With this loss, the Owls end the year with an 8-15 record, along with a 5-7 record in conference, coming up just a few games short of postseason contention.
Although the season didn't end how the Owls wanted to, there were vast improvements across the board compared to the 2024 season. The team managed to win an additional 5 games overall, 3 of which were conference games where the Owls have struggled in the past.
Team stats where up across the board as well, as almost every major category saw improvement from the previous season. Kills/set improved from 7.92 to 9.74, hitting percentage went from .029 to .107, as well as assists/set and blocks/set improving by more than a whole point.
The Owls will graduate eight sophomores this year, paving the way for a lot of new faces come next fall, but will look to keep the momentum built upon this year into 2026.
