Volleyball continues Winning Ways with Sweep of Hawks on road
Dearborn, MI- It was another successful road trip last night for the Oakland Community College volleyball team as they managed to sweep the Henry Ford Hawks to a 3-0 victory. This marks back to back road sweeps for the Owls, and improve their record to 5-7 and 3-2 in conference.
The Owls continued to display their high energy effort in set one, taking it 25-19. Set two and three was a similar story as the Owls were just too much to handle for the Hawks, and would go onto win both sets 25-18.
Showing out on the court for the Owls was sophomore middle blocker Alex Hering who led the way with 5 blocks and added 4 kills to her night. Freshman setter Parker Kitts got involved in the action with 17 assists on the night along with 5 digs. Freshman libero Mattea Ball continued her defensive prowess as she tailed a team high 13 digs. Lastly sophomore outside hitter Megan Keller led the offensive attacked with 7 kills, while tacking on 4 digs in the winning cause.
The Owls will have Wednesday off as they will be on a bye, but will return to action this Saturday, October 4th when they participate in the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Challenge. The women will play two games on Saturday and Sunday, and will face of against Southwestern Michigan, Kalamazoo Valley, McHenry, and Grand Rapids.
