Owls drop game at home to Mott
Auburn Hills, MI- It was a tough one on the home court for the Oakland Community College Volleyball team on Monday night, as the Owls fell in three sets to Mott Community College. As a result, the Owls fall to a 3-7 record on the year and 1-2 in conference play, while the Bears improved to 9-8 and 2-1 in conference.
Mott got off to a hot start in the first set and never looked back as they would go onto capture the win 25-16. In set two the Owls did a terrific job in bouncing back as they kept it competitive until the end but would unfortunately come up short, dropping the set 25-21. In the third and final set, the Owls and Bears had once again a highly contested back and forth contest but the winner in the end proved to be the Bears, winning 25-20.
The offensive attack for the Owls was led by sophomore outside hitter Emily Snay, who tallied 12 kills on the night, along with sophomore middle blocker Audrey Cole who had 9 kills. Freshman libero Mattea Ball helped on the defensive side with 17 total digs on the night, along with freshman outside hitter Sam Jones who had 13 digs, along with 5 kills.
Volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday night when they travel out to Adrian, Michigan to take on the Jackson College Jets at 7pm.
