Owls handle Bears at Home on Sophomore Day
Auburn Hills, MI- On Saturday the women's basketball team at Oakland Community College got a big win on Sophomore Day over conference opponent Mott Community College with a final score of 89-75. With the win, the Owls still remain in the hunt for the postseason with just one game remaining.
After Saturday's contest, the Owls improved to 6-20(3-10) on the year, while the Bears fell to 9-16(3-10).
It was a career day for sophomore forward Madison Spanicciati as she collected 25 points for the Owls, a new high, as well as 5 rebounds and 2 steals in the contest. Sophomore guard Dakota Deel found herself in double figures for the game as well, as she contributed with a 15 point performance on the afternoon. Sophomore forward Larissa Gibson and freshman forward Tracy Ludescher both ended their days with 11 points, with Gibson collecting 10 rebounds to complete the double-double performance, while Ludescher had 9 rebounds. Both also accounted for 4 steals.
The regular season will end tomorrow night when the Owls will match up against Wayne County in a must win game to stay alive in the postseason hunt. Tip-off is at 5:30pm.
