Owls Challenge Mott early, but Drop the Road Contest
Flint, MI- The Oakland Community College women's basketball team found themselves in a highly contested first half last night against the Mott Community College Bears, but were stymied in the second half, as the Bears would go onto win 104-70.
After last nights matchup, the Owls drop to 4-15(1-5) on the year, as the Bears improved to 7-10(1-4).
Offense wasn't an issue for the women in this one, as four Owls scored in double figures on the evening, including Sophomore Forward Madison Spanicciati who had a team high 16 points that included 4 rebounds and 2 steals on the night. Sophmore forward Larissa Gibson dominated the glass in the contest, as she collected a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds. Gibson also tallied 2 blocks.
Freshman forward Tracy Ludescher stayed busy in this one, as she filled the stat sheet for the Owls. Ludescher ended her night with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Sophomore guard Dakota Deel contributed with 14 points of her own in the matchup, while also adding on 3 rebounds and 2 steals to the cause.
The women will be back in action this Saturday at home as they'll welcome in Wayne County for a 1pm tip-off.
