Owls nab First Conference Win at Home over Hawks

Auburn Hills, MI- The Oakland Community College women's basketball team faced off against conference opponent Henry Ford College this afternoon in a very contested matchup that ultimately saw the Owls walk away with the win, 90-81. As it currently stands, the Owls record sits at 4-12(1-2) while the Hawks drop to 2-11(1-2).

Leading the way for the Owls was sophomore forward Larissa Gibson who managed to put up a 25 point performance that included 7 rebounds with 3 assists and 3 steals. Contributing with a double-double on the afternoon was sophomore forward Madison Spanicciati who had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Leah Williams notched 15 points of her own on the afternoon, along with 6 boards and 5 steals.

OCC women's basketball will be back in action on Wednesday night when they host #3 Schoolcraft College. Tip-off is at 5:30pm.
