Owls drop a heartbreaker in OT to the Timberwolves
Petoskey, MI- OCC women's basketball made the trek yesterday all the way up to Petoskey, Michigan to take on the North Central Michigan Timberwolves in a weekday non-conference matchup. After a hard-fought game that ended in overtime, the Owls fell to the Timberwolves 95-92.
After going into the half up 42-40, the Owls kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter as they got out to a 7-point lead heading into the fourth. The Timberwolves fought back and managed to push the game into overtime where they would go onto win. With this loss, the Owls drop to 0-4 on the young season, as the Timberwolves picked up their first win, as they currently sit at 1-4.
Leading the charge for the Owls on the court was sophomore forward Larissa Gibson, who had a game high 26 points and shot 10-19 from the floor. Gibson also had 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Other Owl contributors were sophomore guard Dakota Deel and freshman guard Tracy Ludescher. Both reached double figures on the night, as Deel scored 16 points while going 5-9 from deep, while Ludescher added 12 points with 5 assists and 3 steals.
The Owls will be back in action tonight when they travel to the UP to take on Bay College at 5pm.
