Waterford, MI- OCC softball was in action this afternoon in a makeup double header matchup against the Mott Community College Bears, which as it stands currently, are the first and second place representatives in the MCCAA East.
It was all Bears this afternoon in Waterford as they took game one 9-2 and followed up their performance in game 2 with a 14-3 win. For the Owls, they drop to 15-7 in conference and 16-13 overall.
For game 1, the offense was led by sophomore first baseman Katelynn Perry who notched 2 hits in the contest along with freshman right fielder Kaitlynn Elkins who also had a multi-hit day. On the mound, sophomore pitcher Elyssa Frezza threw all 7 innings, allowing 8 earned runs on 12 hits while striking out 8 and walking 3.
Game 2 was another quite contest at the plate for the Owls, as they only managed to string together 3 hits, one of which being an RBI single in the 2nd inning for Frezza. Perry started in the circle for the Owls going 3.1 innings while giving up 9 earned runs on 10 hits.
The Owls will return to play on Friday afternoon when they'll host Schoolcraft College for Sophomore Day at 1pm.
