Men's Cross Country team finishes in 5th place at Skipper Invitational; Women have a strong showing
Goodells, MI- The Owls kicked off the 2025 season on Friday as both the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in the Skipper Invitational at Goodells County Park.
The Men had strong showings from their top runners on Friday, as Freshman Napoleon Lino finished his 8k race with a time of 27:45, which was good enough for an 11th place finish. Freshman James Cusick ended his race with a Top 20 finish as he placed in 19th with a time of 28:45. As a team, the Men would finish in 5th place on the day.
The women were led by Freshman Adrian Fear who had the best time for the Owls in the 5k, with a time of 24:46. Freshman Angelica Vredeveld finished just six spots back of Fear, with a time of 27:10, followed by Freshman Vanessa Torres with a time of 27:27.
Cross Country will have their next test Friday, September 12th as both the men and women will compete in the Wayne State Warrior Challenge.
