Owls win OT Thriller at the Buzzer to kick off the 2025-26 Season
Kalamazoo, MI- There aren't many better ways to kick off a season than how the Oakland Community College men's basketball team started theirs last night, as the Owls won in dramatic fashion thanks to an overtime buzzer beater by sophomore guard Aaron Chapman, giving them the 94-91 win over 14th ranked Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
This victory for the Owls also marks the first collegiate win for first year head coach Jason Rushton.

The man of the hour, sophomore guard Aaron Chapman also surpassed the 20-point mark with 22 of his own, the biggest of them coming from his deep 3-point game winning shot at the buzzer.
Sophomore guard Nick Speiser was another big contributor for the Owls, as he tailed 17 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds. Sophomore forward Jordan Wright had a productive evening as well for the Owls, as he supplied 17 points and 7 rebounds to the cause.
