OCC Athletics to Host MCCAA Hunger Games on Saturday, February 21st
Auburn Hills, MI- Oakland Community College Athletics will be participating in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Hunger Games on Saturday, February 21st, when the Owls host the Mott Community College basketball teams.
In lieu of entry fee to the game, the department will be collecting canned and other non-perishable goods to donate to the Orchard Ridge food pantry, as well as any monetary donations.
Since 2014, the MCCAA Hunger Games have promoted friendly competition among member schools while supporting local communities. Each of the conference's 24 institutions designates a home basketball game to collect canned and non-perishable food donations from fans. These contributions are then counted and distributed to nearby food pantries.
Following the conclusion of the conference season, the MCCAA recognizes the top-performing school with the Hunger Games Plaque. In 2025, the initiative helped supply 15,335 meals to food pantries across the state.
Tip-off for the games will be at 1pm for the women, and 3pm for the men.
